How can the Clean and Jerk help my running?

Good question. After a couple of hours of searching the Internet, it was hard to find a non-CrossFit website that mentioned both Clean and Jerk and running. Here is an article that came pretty close but didn't explicitly mention either the Clean and Jerk or the Snatch, but summarized about 75% of the CrossFit methodology.

CrossFit, a sport of inches

Monologue from one of my favorite movie scenes mixed in the context of one of the most beautiful and excruciatingly painful sports. The people who succeed with CrossFit know the difference an inch can make. Or does CrossFit teach the difference an inch can make. Nature or nurture... How will you know if you don't try?

I stole this video link from the CrossFit San Francisco blog. If you ever get a chance to visit Coach K in SF, do it. He was a U.S. Canoe and Kayak Team member in C-2 and currently a doctoral candidate in Physical Therapy so you know he's got the Special Sauce. World-class coaching in one of most beautiful places on the planet: get after it.

Great Article on Functional Fitness

It is hard to find articles discussing the merits of squating below horizontal, but I found one by searching google.com for squating below horizontal. Who woulda thunk it.

Back in the Saddle

We took a minor break from the website but we are back with slightly changed program and, hopefully, some better opportunities for everyone to particpate in CrossFit at a level that is right for them. We are now offering drop-in classes on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. These classes are geared for almost anyone to participate. Email or phone if you are unsure of the physical requirements for the class or any other information about the class. Look for upcoming events in Olympic Weightlifting and strength training for running (yes, you read that correctly) in the near future.
